I wanted to share something sweet with you that happened. I just finished going through a bible study, “Grieving The Child I Never Knew” by Kathe Wunnenburg, with someone. While I was working on one of the chapters my 5 year old, Ethan, asked me what I was reading. I told him that I was reading something to help me with how sad I am that the baby that was in my belly died.
He said he wanted to write something in it. He then proceeded to write what’s in this picture: Baby is in heaven. He told me, “It’s okay Mom. The baby is with Adam and Eve and they know how to take care of babies. And they are with Jesus!” Can you believe that?!?! I cannot tell you how much that meant to me. I am amazed at how much my little boy has been used to comfort me and bring me joy in the midst of this loss.
Be encouraged! God uses others to bring his comfort to us. Has he used someone in your life to say or do just the right thing when you needed it?
I’d love to hear how people in your life have blown you away with words or acts of comfort. Comment below and let’s be encouraged by reading all the ways God has used others to minister to our broken hearts.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:8
By the way, I HIGHLY recommend “Grieving The Child I Never Knew” by Kathe Wunnenburg. The journey of dealing with your loss she takes you on is spot on. You will get much more by discussing the questions with someone else so I encourage you to not go through it alone. Check out the book here!
